Net Working America can help you with all your networking needs.
System Design and Consulting Services
We
can provide a variety of system design and consulting services. If you would
like a technology roadmap for your office, we can discuss your current
equipment, your software and your projects. Then through a combination of
interviews, discussion and needs analysis we can offer specific solutions that
will help you achieve your working goals. You can contact us by phone
(248-705-0470) or e-mail (rod@nw-america.com)
We will be happy to sit down with you and discuss your needs and make
suggestions along the way.
Custom LAN and WAN Design and Maintenance
We can create, expand and maintain your local area network with a client/server design. This would include configuring Internet/Intranet e-mail on the server and workstations, printer sharing, file sharing and security. We would also install and maintain any server-based applications, such as accounting, inventory and contact management programs. If you have two or more offices in different buildings around town that need to share data, we can set up a custom WAN using high speed data access. In either case, we start with a free 2 hour walk through and consultation to discuss your network and objectives.
Remote Access Solutions
If
you have remote locations that must share data or staff members who work from
home, we can implement remote data access solutions that will allow everyone to
access your server as if they were just down the hall. Possibilities are Windows Terminal Services, Virtual Private Networking,
PCAnywhere, and
direct dial-up.
Internet Sharing and Firewall Security
Having the ability for everyone on your company’s network to connect to the
Internet is a vital part of your business. We have the ability to help you
achieve this goal. We can help you get DSL or fractional T1 Internet
connectivity in your office and then distribute it across your new or existing
network. This would include setting up all individual workstations with e-mail
access through Outlook or Outlook Express and Internet access through Netscape
or Internet Explorer. Then we can add a firewall to protect your network from
external threats like hackers. A firewall can also be used to manage
and restrict access to the Internet. The firewall maintains a log of which sites
have been visited by users in your company.
Data Backup Solutions
Being able to back up your company’s data is critical to your company’s survival. There are many different ways to back up your data. A very basic and effective method is to use one of the new CDR/W (CD Recordable/Rewriteable) Drives. These drives can back up 700MB of data on a single CD-ROM. They are effective if you just want to back up data files. For larger amounts of data, you can use DVD-RAM drives to store up to 4.3 GB of data on a single disc. More advanced systems feature DAT (Digital Audio Tape) drives with software like Veritas Backup Exec. This software can be scheduled to automatically back up certain programs or files daily or weekly. Typical DAT sizes are 12/24 GB and 20/40GB or 40/80GB (the second number refers to compressed capacity. The actual capacity per tape depends on the data being backed up). With this design you can back up an entire network file server’s operating system and data. You can also use multiple hard drives in a RAID array to spread your data over more than one hard drive. If one hard drive fails, your data is safe on the other drives and can be rebuilt by installing a new drive. The best solution is a combination of RAID and tape back up. That way you defend against system failure but also have removable tapes not stored in the office. That’s important if there is a fire, flood or theft. Your data is off the premises and safe. Networking America can help you design an appropriate backup solutions for network.
